The Collected Works of Seal Engraving (10 volumes)

  This is a basic series of inexpensive, light-weight editions that provide an overview the entire range of Japanese and Chinese seal engraving art, from the ancient Yin and Zhou dynasties to the masters of the Ming and Ch'ing dynasties, and from the Yamato ancient seals of Japan to the seal engravers of the Showa period.
   The best seals have been carefully selected from a vast collection of materials through rigorous authentication, and each volume contains between 500 and 1,500 seals, including extensive unpublished materials.
   All works are annotated with original text, and, where possible, with the author's signature from the engraving on the side of the seal. Additionally, commentary by up-and-coming researchers is included at the end of the book.
